Mission: Escort to the Rain VILLAGE!! ( Private) 2/2

Crair nodded and carefully picked himself up, but his sorrowful look didn't go away for a few minutes before he looked at her.

"I'm still looking for my families killer. You have any vengeance for the person who ruined your family?"

Crair while waiting for her answer reached into his backpack and pulled out a black leather jacket which he slipped over his shoulders to keep himself more covered hiding some of the scars except the ones on his chest because he was not wearing a shirt underneath now.

He ran his fingers through the ivory colored locks in front of his hair on his bangs.

"What happened to your family? If you don't mind me asking."

Kai really didn't feel like talking about it, but since he told her what happened to his, it was only right to exchange her story. She stood in silence for a minute, looking down.
" My older siblings, Koi and Kei both thought it would be a good idea to sneak and play outside the village gate. The ball fell deeper into the forest and they made me go get it. When I came back I saw 4 ninja, I don't know which village, standing over there slaughtered body. They ran over and tried to attack me," Kai touched around the bandages that went over her nose and the one over her eye. " he attacked me with a Kunai, he was about to kill me, then mother and father came out and killed them off.. A few months past, but mother fell into depression, sadly then she committed suicide. " Looking up Kai smiled.
" I guess you can say that it was my fault.. If I could have convinced them not to go outside the gate.. they would be here.... " Kai could feel her eyes start to water up, she turned away from Crair and sucked them up.
" But I am fine now.. I miss them though.. anyways.. to the rain village."

"You know..." Crair paused and stopped walking for a second to look at her.

"I used to always blame myself, sometimes I still feel it is my fault that my son's, wife, and my mother died. Though my father convinced me otherwise. I could not prevent that attack on my family because I had no knowledge of the attack. As for my mother, she died while giving birth to me...it sometimes is a natural cause...so I wouldn't blame yourself. You were young, but now you know better and learned from your mistakes."

Crair smiled warmly at her.

"I may seem old, but I'm really not. I have plenty of knowledge from my experiences Kai."

"But let's get away from such a dreary subject shall we, the Rain Village is still a long ways away. I can still feel enemy ninja tracker us too, more than likely after me in particular. So be alert alright?"

Kai took Crairs suggestions to the heart.
" Okay." She said smiling back at him. They began to walk, and walk, and it felt like time was passing by quick, and then eventually it hit nightfall.
" Maybe we should set up camp." Kai proposed the idea.
" We don't have any food though...." She said while looking sadly to her stomach.
" Do you know if there are any wild animals out here? " Walking around Kai started to gather sticks.

"Sure." Crair replied reaching into his back and putting on the chakra blade claws back on.

"You set up camp. I'll be right back."

The black and white haired paused and stood still before walking off into the forest.

Coming into a valley Crair saw a wild boar a few yards away by a pond.

He crouched down placing one hand palm down on the ground making the claws on that hand rest against some rocks, making a soft scraping sound.

The boar however heard the metal grinding against the rock and started to run when Crair suddenly took off the metal claws on his left hand off and chucking it at the bore where it stabbed into the bore's side rupturing a lung causing the pig to gasp and fall to the ground panting.

Crair walked over to the wild pig and pulled his ninja weapon out of the pigs body before giving it the final blow.

Taking his jacket off to avoid getting blood all over it he tied it around his waste before picking up the pig with one hand making the muscles in his arm clench tightly as he grasped onto it, he started his way back to the campsite.

While Crair went off to catch prey, Kai started to make a fire.
" Yes it finally lit." She said as I small flame began to grow bigger and bigger.
" I hope Crair will manage to catch some prey.. I hope he brings something delicious. " Kai's mouth started to water while thinking of all the food. She loved food.
Kai looked into her bag and found a bottle of water. " Oh heyyy!!" She said.
" We can drink this!" Kai saw a rabbit pass by around the camp sight. Quickly she pulled out a shuriken and threw it at the rabbit. The Shuriken hit it and the bunny laid life less.
" Mhmmm, cooked rabbit stew.." Kai thought while going to pick it up.

Crair came back with the boar slung over his shoulder some of the blood dripping down his back.

"Well I got something." Crair muttered setting the boar down and walking to the logs that were ready to be lit.

Forming some seals a small jet of fire was blown from his mouth onto the logs making them catch alight.

"That should do it." he said taking his jacket off and walking to a small stream that was near the head of the forest in the direction he had walked in.

Dipping his hand in he threw water onto his back getting the boars blood off his back and then washing the blood off his ninja tools.

"This boar better be good I swear I usually hate pork as it is." he muttered.

He tied the boar's legs onto a long branch and mad holders above the fire to hang the pig above the fire.

"Guess we're going old fashioned tribal style tonight Kai." he said with a smile and sat down on a tree and leaning against it.

Kai looked at the pig. " Oh it is big! I caught a rabbit!" She said while handing it to Crair, in hope he would put it over the fire too.
" Don't we have to skin it to?" Kai said in disgust, wincing at the thought of opening it up.
The smell of the roasting pig smelled good and made her mouth water.
" This would be soo good if we seasoned it up." She thought.
" Thanks for bringing it though! Did it take a lot of work? Usually these things can run." She chuckled while moving closer to the fire.

"Yeah they sure can. But if your quiet enough you can get em fast. We have to skin the rabbit though. Sorry." Crair chuckled as he gratefully took the rabbit and a kunai from his belt.

He sat down against the tree and began to skin the rabbit, cringing as he smelled the pig starting to roast over the fire.

If there was one food he could not stand it was pork or pig whatever you wanted to call it. The smell would make him want to barf.

Finely the smell became too much for him and he turned to Kai with a hopeful look upon his face.

"The wind is picking up, any ideas how we can get the scent of the boar going the opposite direction? "I can't stand the smell or taste of pig, but it was all I could find."

Crair went back to skinning the rabbit while he awaited his answer from the girl.

Kai watched as Crair took the rabbit and went away to skin it.
He asked her about changing the direction of the scent.
" Sorry, but they only way I can think of is if you sit on the other side of it." Kai chuckled.
"Sorry again.. you can eat the rabbit if you want.." She suggested while pointing at the fat bunny.
" How can I tell if it is ready? " Kai pointed towards the pig that was roasting.

"Thank you." Crair nodded before walking over to her and setting the rabbit down.

"You see how its starting to turn the skin a darker color? Wait til the whole body is that color, to make sure you get the whole thing..."

Crair paused and lifted the branch a bit before shifting it over at a different angle.

"...turn it every now and then."

Crair set the branch with the pig back down and picked up the rabbit continuing to skin the last of the fur off.

"So what of your Team? Why do you need the Rain Village?"

Kai watched Crair fix the angle of the pig.
"Thanks, " She responded. While Crair went back to skinning the rabbit, Kai stayed by the fire.
" Oh, I was paired with my father for my first mission. He is a retired Anbu.. We didn't have a lot of genin graduate this time, so I don't really have a team yet.. but they said I will be put into one later on. Our mission is to escort this old guy back to the rain village." Kai explained while looking towards Crair.
" Ohh I think the pig is done.." She said when she was examining it.

"Old guy? Hm, that's interesting...you said your father is a retired Anbu?" Crair said setting the now skinned rabbit down and walking to the fire with the pig over it, he inspected it a little.

"Dad and I roasted a bird like this once, I'm really not big on outdoors. He is. So I think I did this properly, we'll know if one of us gets sick." he commented taking a separate knife out of his kunai holster.

He cut it open slightly over the open fire to make sure it was done, no loose blood leaked out so he figured it was.

Stomping on the fire with the bottom of his shoe he put out the fire so he could reach over it to cut the pig open.

"Take your pick on what you would like, just don't cut yourself I keep my weapons extra sharp." Crair stated and handed her his kunai.

Crair took some of the un-burnt logs from the previous and stacked them up before using a same jutsu as before to catch the logs on fire, using the same branch from earlier he tied the rabbit up to the branch so started it roast over the fire.

" Yes he is." Kai responded.
She took the knife from Crair, noticing his warning she was careful.
Kai cut off 2 slices of the pig and bit into it.
" Yum! " She said, " it tastes all smokey and the outside is crispy while the inside in nice and soft." Kai continued to eat, not stopping because she hadn't eaten for a while.
" I went camping before, got chased by a bear. Father had to attack it. ahhahaa!" She laughed while enjoying the food.
" Even if you don't like pig, you should try this one, " Kai smiled while biting into another piece.

"Nah, I'm good with the rabbit." Crair said hesitantly.

He suddenly froze set the rabbit down before putting it on the fire.

"This is getting annoying...another enemy..." he whispered.

A single Anbu Sound Ninja dropped down from the trees, but Crair already had him by the neck.

"Who keeps sending all of you? If you don't tell me...I'll gut you right here!" Crair yelled raising a clawed hand to the man's throat.

"Heh, settle down now." the man said raising a hand and that created a purple mist like substance in front of Crair's face.

Crair dropped him and cried out rubbing his eyes which burned as he started to feel drowsy.

"Sleeping jutsu..." he muttered as he fell to the ground.

"Now...ready to come willingly boy?" the Anbu chuckled.

"In your dreams..." Crair snarled looking at Kai.

"Get him, I can't move." he muttered.

The Anbu turned to Kai and laughed. "You gonna attack me little girl? Do you even know what this man is capable of?"

While Kai was eating a sound ninja came out of no where and used a jutsu on Crair.
" What is that mist? " Kai thought, her eyes wide in shock.
She stood up, dusting herself off, pulled out a kunai and spun it around her finger, then gripping it. With harsh eyes Kai stared straight back at her opponent.
" Heh. I don't care who the hell he is, because right now all I know is he is the good one you are the bad and he is my friend." She said, holding her ground and intensely staring at the sound ninja.

"He's using you girly, he'll kill you before you get to the Rain Village, that's just how he rolls. He just loves attention. He doesn't trust any Konoha shinobi."

Crair attempted to strike at the man's foot with his clawed hand but a boot on his throat stopped him.

"Don't move." the man warned.

"This boy's father is a wanted, national criminal, as is he. You'd be doing the ninja world a favor in letting me take him." the man chuckled watching her think.

Crair suddenly let out an angered cry before jerking his leg up and kicking the man in the back of the neck knocking him off towards Kai. "Get the hell off me stupid moron!" Crair yelled.

Crair looked hesitantlyl at Kai before grabbing the Sound ninja by the throat. "Tell me who sent you." he hissed at him before stabbing his claws into the man's thigh.

"Torture me all you want Crair...I won't spill." the ninja said with a hiss of pain.

Kai sighed as Crair took the situation into his own hands. " Looks like he can handle it." She thought while picking up another piece of meat and biting into it.
" You got this Crair?" Kai said not looking up from the boar meat.
Chewing on another chunk of meat Kai thought about what the sound ninja said.
" So what? He won't kill me... will he? I'll just stay on alert." She said to herself while keeping an eye on Crair.

"There is no way Orochimaru would send this many people after me! Who are you working for!" Crair snarled glancing over at Kai.

'I'm lucky the girl didn't believe the man or his plan would be toast...'

Crair stabbed him in the thigh with his ninja claws, "Answer me!"

The man cried out in pain but did not speak to him.

"I'll kill you if you don't answer me right now!" Crair warned.

"Stupid boy..." the man chuckled.

Kai watched as Crair was finishing the job.
With a full belly Kai felt her chakra build up and she felt good and full.
Pulling out a Kunai she sat and watched the sound village.
" I didn't like his last remark.." Kai said while watching the sound ninja with intimidating eyes.
Quickly she turned the kunai and thrusted it towards the Sound Ninjas head.
" I don't think we need his information.. there is just going to be more.. and you know the reason why they want you in the first place."
Kai picked up her bag, closing her eyes and sighing while walking in the direction of Crair.

Crair looked at her for a second and thought before dropping the injured Anbu on the ground.

"Get out of my sight." he hissed.

Crair wiped the blood off his ninja claws and turned to her.

"He could have been of use why did you stop me?" he asked sharply.

As Crair waited for her he started walking again.

'All I can do is hope father isn't pissed that I almost ruined everything...' Crair thought to himself.

Kai responded to Crair in a bored tone.
" Eh, there will just be more to attack. You can get information from them. I need to get to the rain village quickly before my father sends Anbu out to find me, and I am sure you don't want to counter any leaf Anbu, do you?" Kai questioned while tracking behind Crair.
" How much longer till we get there?" She questioned while looking at Crair.
" We need to get there before Sun fall." Eagerness crossed over Kais eyes while she stared straight into the sun.

Crair hesitated looking around before answering.

"Well...I'd guess about a couple hours if we don't stop to break." Crair muttered.

He turned to look at the sky a distance a way. "The dark clouds...that's a sign of the Rain Village, now I don't want to continue from here. If your father is a retired Anbu...he's surely recognize me. Many of the retired Anbu know or have seen what I look like. That's a risk I'm not willing to take." he said.

Crair's mind flashed back to the leaf village shinobi who had tortured him briefly before he eyed Kai.

"Unless you can make a super good excuse as to why I am with you to your father, I'm sorry but I have to leave."

Crair put on his ninja claws in case of any more attacks and started to walk away.

Kai thought, then began to run to catch up with Crair.
" Transformation Jutsu. Basic Jutsu for Academy students. Make yourself looks like one of the Anbu and say you found me. And you can't just leave me, the sound ninja know who I am and will try to get me! " Kai looked down.
" Please? " She said giving Crair the puppy dog eyes.
" It will work. "

"Hn. Fine." Crair muttered putting his hands together and forming some seals.

There was a poof of smoke and Crair stood looking like an Konoha Anbu nin, with a wolf mask.

"How's that?" he asked putting his claws on.

"Any Konoha Anbu use these as weapons or do I need to find a sword."

He adjusted the red scarf and looked at his arm making sure the tatoo for the Konoha symbol was on the right shoulder instead of the wrong one.

Crair looked at her awaiting her answer on whether or not he needed a different weapon.
